MEN'S TEAM MAKING WAVES TO NEISDA

Weston, Mass.—Junior Ben Perry (Chicopee, Mass.) is leading the way for a talented core of young swimmers. Teammates Andy Laforest and Mick Moriarty will be crucial swimmers as Regis faces Gordon College Wednesday.

Laforest, a freshman, has been performing superbly for the men’s team. With times of 24.17 seconds and 53.19 Laforest holds the top times in both the 50-yard and 100-freestyle respectively.

Perry has a commanding time advantage in the 200 free (1:59.61) and 50-backstroke (28.09). Perry has begun training for the New England Invitational Swimming and Diving Association Championships for later this season.

Moriarty is another swimmer that has kept the men in contention with its opponents. A co-captain with Perry, Moriarty has given Regis the ability to have a swimmer finish in the top three of an event.

With Moriarty or Laforest in either the 50 or 100-freestyle events can Regis almost be guaranteed points, as the two hold the top times in both events.

A collective effort will be needed for the men’s team to make a memorable splash against Gordon College Wednesday.
