Regis Men’s Soccer Places Three on CSC Academic All-District® Team

WESTON, Mass. - Senior defender Stephen Allsopp II (Medford, Mass.), sophomore goalkeeper Ethan Donahue (Methuen, Mass.), and sophomore defender Chris Guadagno (Miami, Fla.) have been selected to represent Regis College on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, announced Tuesday, Nov. 21, by the national organization.

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® and Academic All-District® Teams program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. To be considered for inclusion on the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Men's Soccer Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must have competed in at least 90 percent of the institution's contests or started in at least 66 percent of those contests.

Allsopp, one of this year's team captains, appeared in all 18 matches for the Pride with 17 starts. He played a major role in Regis' five shutouts during the year and earned assists in three straight matches that helped start the Pride's five-match winning streak down the stretch of the regular season.

A nursing major, Allsopp scored his first career collegiate goal during the Pride's 3-0 victory over Elms Sept. 9. His three assists all came off long throw-ins, with the first two leading to the only goal of the match in Regis' 1-0 victories at Lasell Oct. 11 and over Dean Oct. 14. Allsopp was selected to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Soccer All-Sportsmanship Team at the conclusion of the regular season.

Donahue became the starting goalkeeper for the Pride right from the season opener as he started 15 matches and made one relief appearance during the 2023 season. Donahue collected six victories, including shutout wins over Dean Oct. 14 and over Anna Maria Oct. 18 as part of Regis' five-match GNAC winning streak to close out regular season conference play. Donahue, a biomedical engineering major, ended the year tied for fifth in the GNAC with 71 total saves.

Guadagno appeared in 17 matches, including 14 starts, for the Pride in 2023 as he became a mainstay on the backline, playing in four Regis shutouts during the season. Guadagno helped the Pride finish in eighth place in the 15-team GNAC regular season standings, and he started the GNAC Tournament first round match against Emmanuel Oct. 26 that resulted in a 2-1 Pride victory. Guadagno is majoring in business management with a minor in data analytics.
