Pride Eliminated From GNAC MSOC Tourney by Monks

STANDISH, Maine – Regis College suffered a 3-0 defeat to Saint Joseph's College in the quarterfinals of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Soccer Tournament, Saturday, Oct. 28.

The first goal of the match was scored in the 14th minute by Will Wood, after receiving the ball on a corner kick from Rion Dos Santos. Less than four minutes after the first goal, the Monks doubled their lead after a shot from Nate Sottak found the back of the net.

The final goal of the match was scored in the 71st minute after Joseph Perron took a shot to the right quadrant of the goal, just missing Ethan Donahue (Methuen, Mass.).

The Pride saw some offensive opportunity late in the match as Jeremiah Frias (San Diego, Calif.) was awarded a penalty kick on a handball, but the scoring chance was saved by Liam Foley.

Donahue accumulated six saves. The Monks led in shots (18-10), shots on goal (9-4), and corner kicks (6-2).

Regis College finished the season 7-11 overall, including a 6-8 mark in the GNAC. Saint Joseph's College advances to the semifinal round with the opponent to be determined later Saturday.
