Men’s Soccer Loses at Emmanuel

BOSTON – Two early goals were enough for Emmanuel College as it defeated Regis College, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's soccer match at Roberto Clemente Field.

Just over five minutes into the match, Nick DiPace struck first for the Saints to give the home team a 1-0 lead. In the 13th minute, Regis goalie Ethan Donahue (Methuen, Mass.) was able to stop a shot by Joey Soucy, but Zachary Brown grabbed the rebound and sent it into the net to extend the Emmanuel advantage to 2-0.

Donahue kept the Pride close in the 24th minute when he made consecutives saves on shots by Soucy, but Regis could not create many offensive opportunities. The Pride were limited to two total shots and two corner kick opportunities in the match while the Saints finished with 14 total shots. Donahue ended up with three saves for the Pride, and Maddox Pierce earned the clean sheet for Emmanuel by making one save.
