PAXTON, Mass. - Regis College lost to Anna Maria College, 2-0, Saturday afternoon in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference men's collegiate soccer match at Caparso Field.

Anna Maria (3-9-2, 3-6-2 GNAC) took the early lead just over seven minutes into the match as Mark Cavallaro scored off an assist from Hezekiah Adeyeye. The Pride increased their offensive pressure in the second half, but Santiago was able to stop shots on goal by Luke Ayotte (Cromwell, Conn.) and Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) in the 59th minute to keep the AMCATS on top. Anna Maria added an insurance goal in the 66th minute when Adeyeye connected on his seventh goal of the season.

Regis continued to create scoring opportunities later in the second half, but within the last 10 minutes of regulation, Jacob Freitas (Dracut, Mass.) hit the crossbar and Agu Silva-Olivera (Lunenburg, Mass.) hit the post with shots, while an attempt by Alfred Bresnahan (Marblehead, Mass.) was denied by Santiago. The Pride finished with 15 total shots and nine corner kick opportunities in the contest.

Santiago collected seven saves, including five saves in the second half, as he earned a clean sheet. For Regis, Freddie Beckmann (Franklin, Mass.) played the first half in goal and was credited with one save before Ethan Donahue (Methuen, Mass.) took over in the second half and made three saves.
