Competitive Battle Results in Loss for Men’s Soccer on Senior Day

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College was defeated by Emmanuel College, 1-0, in a tightly contested Great Northeast Athletic Conference men's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Regis Stadium.

Regis had its best opportunities to score in the second half when Santiago Pedraza Novak (Bogota, Colombia) and Zack Acciardo (Derry, N.H.) had shots on goal, forcing the Emmanuel goalkeeper to make saves to prevent the Pride from getting on the scoreboard.

Alec Erskine scored the game-winner for Emmanuel with just over 30 seconds remaining until the end of the first half. After settling a long pass in the box, Erksine beat the Regis defenders, finding the left side of the net to give Emmanuel a one-goal advantage.

Freddie Beckmann (Franklin, Mass.) made eight saves in goal for the Pride while Vincent Conelli stopped two shots in the win for the visitors. The Saints outshot the Pride, 20-5, led by Joey Soucy with six shots and Erskine with five shots.
