Men’s Soccer Draws in Tightly Contested Match

NEW LONDON, N.H. - Regis College ended Saturday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference men's soccer match against Colby-Sawyer in a 1-1 draw at Kelsey Field.

Callum Park (Providenciales, Turks & Caicos) scored his first goal of the season off a pass from Conrad Kalinowski (London, England), finding the lower right section of the net to tie the game at one goal apiece in the 39th minute of play.

Colby-Sawyer scored very early in the match when Ryan Wilson put the home team up by one with an unassisted goal in the top right corner of the net with just over three minutes elapsed from the clock.

Freddie Beckmann (Franklin, Mass.) played the entirety of the match in goal for the Pride, making three saves, while Yener Bartolon made two stops for Colby-Sawyer. The Chargers threatened to score with only 26 seconds remaining in the contest, but a clutch save by Beckmann prevented the game-winner, ending the match in a draw.

Regis College (4-7-1, 1-6-1 GNAC) next plays on Monday, Oct. 10, with a non-conference matchup at Emerson beginning at 6:00 p.m. before returning home on Wednesday, Oct. 12, to pick up GNAC play against Rivier starting at 4:00 p.m.
