Weston, Mass. - The Regis College men's soccer team picked up their first victory at home of the season, winning 3-1 against Eastern Nazarene Wednesday afternoon at Regis Stadium.

The first goal of the game came off of a strike from Derek Triana (Port St. Lucie, Fla.), when he collected the ball and found the goal in the 19th minute to give the Pride a 1-0 lead.

The lead would be extended less than a minute late when Fabyanno Furbino (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) connected with Ken Niyonzima (Dracut, Mass.), who was able to find the back of the net and put the Pride up, 2-0.

A few minutes later, Eastern Nazarene's Cyprian Okwaro snuck a shot past Jesse Bonilla (Ramona, Calif.), who finished with two saves on the day, and shrunk the Eastern Nazarene deficit to one. Going into the halftime break, the score remained 2-1.

The final goal of the game would come from Brendan Plasczynski (Bristol, Conn.), who was able to score with Sal Madera (Rocky Hill, Conn.) providing the assist on a long throw-in.

The Pride will start a series of road games on Saturday, Sept. 8, when they travel to Johnson & Wales (RI) for a 1:00 p.m. matchup. They will play a total of five matches on the road before returning to play in Weston on Sept. 26 against Suffolk.
