Men's Soccer Selected 7th in GNAC Preseason Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. - With under two weeks until the Regis (Mass.) men's soccer team opens its 2017 season, the team has been chosen to finish seventh in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Pride, who appeared in its first ever New England Collegiate Conference championship game, will play in its first season in the GNAC in 2017. Against GNAC opponents a year ago, the Pride went 3-2 in five games, picking up wins over Albertus Magnus, Anna Maria and Lasell.

Topping the poll was defending GNAC champion Saint Joseph's College (Me.), picking up 10 of a possible 11 first votes for a total of 119 points. Finishing in second was Norwich University, who grabbed the 11th first place vote to finish with 105 points in the poll.

The Pride will open its season a week from Saturday when it the team travels to Eastern Nazarene to take on the Lions in non-conference action at 7:00 p.m. The team plays its first ever GNAC game a week later on Saturday, Sept. 9 on the road against Anna Maria.
