Two Earn GNAC Men's Soccer Weekly Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. - Junior Jesse Bonilla (Ramona, Calif.) of the Regis (Mass.) men's soccer team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, while freshman Fabyanno Furbino (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) has been named GNAC Rookie of the Week.

Bonilla picked up a pair of overtime wins for the Pride, leading the team to a 2-0 week and the team's first-ever 4-1 start. Bonilla made 23 saves between the two games, with 14 coming in the second half or later of the two contests.

In Saturday's overtime win over Albertus Magnus, Furbino scored his first two collegiate goals, the latter of which the overtime game-winner. Furbino fired a team-high nine shots in the 4-3 win.

The strong performances from Bonilla and Furbino have helped lead the Pride to the top of the GNAC table. At 2-0-0 in GNAC play, Regis stands alone in first place in the conference.

The Pride will be in action on Monday afternoon as the team hosts Roger Williams at Regis Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
