Men's Soccer Plays To Scoreless Draw With Daniel Webster

NASHUA, N.H. – The Regis (Mass.) men's soccer team and Daniel Webster went toe to tie for 110 minutes but neither team broke through as the squads posted a 0-0 double overtime tie in a NECC matchup Saturday at Eagle Field.

DWC (5-4-3, 2-0-2 NECC) saw five saves from Copper Hall (Heber City, Utah) while Regis (7-4-1, 2-0-1 NECC) picked up five saves from Manny Santiago (Bristol, Conn.)

The stat line was virtually even with DWC posting an 18-14 total advantage in shots while Regis took four corners to two for the Eagles.

DWC had the better of scoring opportunities, particular late. A Marcos Vieira Filho feed from Alex Carvajal in the 86th just missed on the right post, while a Carvajal header from 10 feet in the 96th just sailed over the cross bar. An Ian Hutchinson shot 108th just missed left while a follow up shot a minute later was knocked down by Santiago to preserve the tie.

Regis responded with a solid chance in the 100th as Don Gomez's shot from 20 yards was pulled in by Hall while A Collin Thurston attempt off a corner sailed just left in the 107th.

The Eagles, who started a six-game home stand with the stalemate, host Endicott in their final nonleague game of the year on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

Regis hosts Becker on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in a NECC tilt.
