WESTON, Mass. - Junior forward Jefferson Lorimer (Lynn, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal in the 42nd minute on Wednesday afternoon, lifting the Regis (Mass.) men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Fitchburg State University.

With the win, the Pride improves to 4-4 on the season, including a perfect 3-0 at Regis Stadium. The Falcons fall to 1-4-1 with the loss.

The Pride opened the scoring in just the fourth minute when senior Zach Sindoni (Haverhill, Mass.) played a perfect ball into space, finding freshman Grayson Owens (Marshfield, Mass.) streaking down the right side of the box. Owens tapped it by Falcons goalkeeper Connor Smith (York, Maine) to collect his first collegiate goal.

Fitchburg State's Ibrahima Male (Pawtucket, R.I.) evened the score in the 24th minute when he netted his second goal of the season. Sophomore midfielder Marckdonard Bastien (Worcester, Mass.) crossed the ball to Male from the right hand side, who fired it past the Pride's Manny Santiago (Bristol, Conn.).

The Pride jumped back in front right before the half on Lorimer's headed tally. The junior got his head to a low cross from the right side from Devin Brady (Springfield, Vt.), beating Smith at the near-side post.

Santiago picked up his fourth win of the season in net for the Pride. He made four saves in the win. Smith, who only played the first half, was credited with the loss. He finished the afternoon with one save. Junior Alex Al-Zaibak (Hingham, Mass.) came on in relief in the second half and stopped the only two shots he faced.

Next up for the Pride, they will travel to Lesley University for their NECC opener on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. The Falcons host Westfield State on Saturday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. in a MASCAC showdown.
