ROSAS NAMED TO ALL-NECC FIRST TEAM, THREE OTHERS HONORED

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's soccer team had four players named to the New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference team and one player named to the Sportsmanship Team on Monday afternoon by the league offices. Senior co-captain Renato Rosas (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) highlighted the Crimson and Gold selections as he was named to the All-Conference First Team as a midfielder.

Senior Christian Mukala (Malden, Mass.) earned a selection as a defender to the All-Conference Second Team while newcomer Derek Triana (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) and Collin Thurston (Temecula, Calif.) were voted to the All-NECC Third team. Junior forward Dillon Lanctot (Somersworth, N.H.) was the Regis selection to the All-NECC Sportsmanship team.

Rosas, a one-time NECC Player of the Week, was an integral part to the Pride's best season in program history. He tied a career-high with four goals and three assists while setting a career-best with 11 points. Rosas's clutch play led to three game-winning goals including one in conference play against Mitchell on October 24th. Rosas finished his Regis career as the programs leader in games played (75), ranked tied for third in assists (9), ranked fourth in career goals scored (12) and ranked fifth in career points (33).

Christian Mukala played in the defensive backfield for the Pride as he was part of the last line of defense that protected goaltender Manny Santiago (Bristol, Conn.). After sitting out a year, Mukala responded by matching a career-high with three goals, including one in conference play during a 4-2 loss to Daniel Webster.

Triana, a Two-Time NECC Rookie of the Week, led the Crimson and Gold in scoring with eight goals, the second most ever during a single season in program. He also compiled the second most points in a single season in program history (18). Triana was dominant during NECC action as he tallied a team-leading five goals and 11 points in conference play. His five conference goals ranked him seventh in the NECC in scoring during conference contests while his 11 points ranked him eighth in the league.

Collin Thurston was also part of the last line of defense that protected Santiago. He set a career-high with two goals and five points as both goals came during NECC action. Thurston scored the game-winner during the Pride's 3-0 upset at Lesley in the NECC First Round on November 4th.

Dillon Lanctot finished his season with three goals, a team-high seven assists, and tied for third on the team with 13 points. Lanctot's seven assists were the most in a single season in program history and he is currently the program's all-time leader in assists with 13.
