WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman midfielder Derek Triana (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) has been named this week's New England Collegiate Conference men's soccer Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday morning.

Triana scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season in a 2-1 setback to Elms on Saturday afternoon. He finished his freshman campaign with eight goals, two assists and led the Pride with 18 points. This is the second time this season Triana has earned rookie honors.

The Pride return to action as the No. 5 seed in the NECC Tournament Wednesday at No. 4 Lesley University tomorrow with game time slated for 8:00 p.m.
