PRIDE NAB #5 SEED, TRAVEL TO LESLEY WEDNESDAY

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – The Regis College men's soccer team has earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Tournament, it was announced on Sunday afternoon by the league offices.

The Pride will travel to No. 4 Lesley University on Wednesday night for an 8:00 p.m. matchup with the Lynx.

Regis and Lesley met back on September 26 with the Lynx pulling out the 1-0 victory over the Pride. The Crimson and Gold held a 16-10 advantage in shots on the day but could not crack the scoring column. Manny Santiago (Bristol, Conn.) made six saves in the setback.

This marks the third time these two teams are meeting in the NECC postseason as Regis and Lesley met in the 2013 NECC First Round, and the 2012 NECC Semifinals – both 1-0 wins for the Lynx. Lesley holds a 9-0-1 advantage in a series that dates back to 2008.

The winner of Wednesday night's match will move on to face top-seeded Daniel Webster College on Friday, November 6. Wednesday's other Semifinal matchup features No. 6 Mitchell College traveling to No. 3 Newbury College. The winner of that match will travel to No. 2 Elms College on Friday.

The NECC Championship will be decided on Sunday, November 8 at the highest remaining seed.
