PRIDE RALLY PAST EMERSON, 2-1

BOSTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's soccer team overcame an early 1-0 deficit with a pair of second half goals to defeat the host Emerson College, 2-1, on Wednesday night in Boston, Mass. The Pride improves to 1-0 on the young year, while Emerson falls to 0-1.

The Lions' Dan Knight potted the first score of the game off a pass from Josh Krakowsky to give Emerson a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute of play. The Lions held a slim 6-5 edge in shots during the opening half, while taking the games lone corner kick.

Regis answered in the 63rd minute as Brendan Plasczynski (Bristol, Conn.) recorded an unassisted tally to tie the game at 1-1.

With less than seven minutes to play in regulation, Plasczynski hit junior Don Gomez (Lynn, Mass.) with a pass that scored the go-ahead goal. The Pride defense held strong for the final minutes of the game as Regis held on for the 2-1 win.

Manny Santiago (Bristol, Conn.) recorded two saves in net to pick up his first win of the year.

The Pride return to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Albertus Magnus College for a 1:00 p.m. matchup.
