GOMEZ, ROSAS, FERREIRA NAMED ALL-NECC

WESTON, Mass. – Three Members of the Regis College Men's Soccer Team were named to the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference Teams it was announced on Monday morning.

The Pride finished the 2014 campaign at 9-11 and 4-3 in NECC play after making it to the NECC Semifinals for the second time in the past three seasons.

Junior midfielder Renato Rosas (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) and sophomore forward Don Gomez (Lynn, Mass.) were All-Conference Second Team selections while freshman midfielder Amandio Ferreira (Dorchester, Mass.) joined his teammates as an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection.

Rosas started and played in 20 games for the Pride this past fall and had a career-high in goals (4) and points (9). Rosas came alive during the NECC Tournament scoring two goals during the playoff run.

Gomez played in 20 games for the Pride while starting five of them. The speedster led Regis in goals (7) and points (16). Out of Gomez seven goals, four of them came against conference opponents which was also good for best on the team. Gomez always seemed to come through in the clutch as he led the Pride with three game winning goals during the season, two came against conference opponents.

Ferreira played in 16 games while starting 14 of them for the Crimson and Gold. His best game of his young collegiate career came on October 18th against conference foe Becker College. Ferreira showed off his free kick skills by putting three free kick opportunities into the back of the net, including the game-winner, in the Pride's 6-0 victory. Ferreira also added two assists during conference matchups as well.
