PRIDE RELEASE 2013 SCHEDULE

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's soccer team recently released their 2013 game schedule, which will feature nine home games and ten non-conference opponents. The Pride, who wrapped up last season with a program best 8-11 record, will be looking to return to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) playoffs after falling in the NECC Semifinals in 2012.

Regis opens up the season with alternating home and away games, which begins on August 30 with the Pride hosting Mount Ida College, while the squad will head to Emerson on September 4, two teams which got the best of Regis a season ago. After hosting Lasell College on September 7, the Pride will travel to Albertus Magnus two days later and look to avenge last season's 3-0 defeat.

The Crimson & Gold will return to Weston, Mass. for back-to-back home games against New England College and Rhode Island College on September 11 and September 14, respectively. The Pilgrims escaped with a slim, 3-2 double overtime win over Regis last season, while the game against Rhode Island will mark the first meeting between both programs.

Beginning on September 18 with Anna Maria, the Pride will be on the road for three straight games, which also includes a conference opener against defending NECC Champion Elms College (September 21) and a non-conference meeting with Fitchburg State (September 25). In 2012, Regis was able to handle Anna Maria and Elms, 5-0 and 2-1, respectively, but fell to the Falcons, 3-1.

The Pride will get a shot at avenging last season's 1-0 loss to Lesley, who knocked out Regis in the NECC Semifinals, at home on September 28, followed by a non-league home game against Suffolk on October 2.

Regis will be away against Newbury on October 5 before hosting Daniel Webster just two days later, the very team the Pride defeated last season, 1-0 in the NECC First Round to advance to the Semifinals.

The Pride will have their second three-game string of away games of the season against NECC foes Becker (October 12) and Southern Vermont (October 19), as well as non-conference opponent Eastern Nazarene on October 16. Regis beat all three teams last year, outscoring them by a combined 9-2 margin.

The Crimson & Gold will wrap up regular season play with a pair of home games against NECC opponents Wheelock and Mitchell on October 23 and October 26, respectively.

The NECC playoffs will kick off with the Quarterfinals on October 30. The NECC Semifinals are scheduled for November 1 and the Championship is slated for November 3.
