LYNX LABOR PAST PRIDE 2-1

WESTON, Mass.-The Regis College men's soccer team was defeated by Lesley College Saturday afternoon in NECC action by the score of 2-1. The Lynx improve to 10-3-1 overall on the season, while the Pride moves to 6-11 on the season.

The Pride went up 1-0 halfway through the first period when Nicholas Tavares (Bellingham, Mass.) tapped in a sideline throw from Alex Caliendo (Windsor, Conn.) to get the scoring started.  Three minutes later the Lynx would get their chance when Ari Sinanis (Guilford, Conn.) went one on one with Pride goalkeeper Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.) and put the ball bottom left corner to even the score at 1-1.  Sinanis's score would be the last of the first period as both teams would jockey for ball position and run the remaining time off the clock to enter the half.

Lesley would get its offense moving 10 minutes into the second period with a barrage of quick shots. The Lynx would hit paydirt when Sinanis fed a cross box pass to Jordan Santos (Middlebury, Conn.) who redirected the pass into the net for a score and put the Lynx up by one. The Pride would answer back with an up-tempo offense that would test lynx goalkeeper Max Perkins (Lexington, Mass.) with two well placed headers by Josh Fidalgo (Dorchester, Mass.). Perkins held strong disallowing the advances by the Pride offense and finished the game with three saves.

The Pride returns to action Wednesday when they host the Eagles from Daniel Webster College in NECC action at 4:00 p.m. The Lynx return to action Monday when they travel to South Burlington, Vermont to take on the Mountaineers from Southern Vermont College.
