PRIDE PUTS TWO PAST HAWKS FOR LATE VICTORY

LEICESTER, Mass.- The Regis College men's soccer team defeated Becker College at the Hawk Athletic Complex Tuesday night by the score of 2-0.The Pride improves to 6-7 on the season and 2-3 in the NECC. The Hawks move to 2-8-2 overall on the season and are 1-1 in the NECC.

The Pride broke a scoreless stalemate in the games 65th minute when Josh Fidalgo (Dorchester, Mass.) broke through a scrum in front of the Hawk net and finished a quick dish from Ricky Guyette (Medway, Mass.)to put Regis up by one. Regis extended their lead two minutes later when Wade Thongsythavong (Lynn, Mass.) scored on a direct kick that put the Pride up 2-0

Pride goalkeeper Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.) made four saves in a winning effort. Hawks goalkeeper Tim McDonald (Holden, Mass.) had four stops on the evening.

The Pride gets back to work on Saturday for a non-conference game with Emmanuel at 2:30 p.m. The Hawks return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host NECC opponent Newbury College at 1p.m.
