FALCONS SOAR PAST REGIS, 4-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Regis College men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback to Albertus Magnus College on Monday afternoon in non-conference soccer action in New Haven, Conn. The Falcons (3-2) were led by a pair of goals from Jamal Howard (West Haven, Conn.). The Pride drop to .500 on the year and sit at 3-3.

The Falcons split their goals on the afternoon, scoring two in the first half and two in the second, as they outshot the Regis College Pride 15-7. Less than three minutes into the second half, Howard scored his third goal of the year to extend the Falcons' lead to 3-0.

Dan Dwyer (Hamden, Conn.) capped Albertus' scoring in today's contest as he scored his second goal of the season in the 70th minute. The Falcons took advantage of a quick corner kick play as freshman Richard Mitchell (Naugatuck, Conn.) sent a short pass on the side line to Zapata who then crossed the ball into the box where it found Dwyer and he beat the keeper with a header into the corner of the net.

Donato Piroscafo (Naugatuck, Conn.) made four saves as he improved to 3-2 on the year between the pipes for the Falcons. Francois Brown (New Haven, Conn.) made his first appearance in net for Albertus this season as he played just over 20 minutes.

Andrew LaMacchia (Lynn, Mass.) and Stefan Todorovic (Los Angeles, Calif.) split time in goal for the Pride as LaMacchia started and took the loss to fall to 3-3 on the year. He allowed two goals and made two saves. Todorovic also allowed two goals and registered three stops for the Pride.

Regis looks to climb back over the .500 mark on Wednesday night when they take on former CCC foe New England College in Weston, Mass. at 6:00 p.m. Albertus will return to action on Saturday afternoon when the Falcons travel to Saint Joseph's College for a GNAC matchup at 1:00 p.m.
