PRIDE PAWED BY LIONS 2-0

Weston, Mass.---The Regis College men's soccer team was defeated by Eastern Nazarene College Tuesday (Oct. 19) by the score of 2-0.  The Pride moves to 4-11-1 overall on the season and are 1-9-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.  The visiting Lions move to 4-10 overall on the season and are 3-8 in TCCC play.

Leading the Pride on defense was freshman goalkeeper Ryne Tilman (Bedford, Mass. /Bridgeton Academy) who started out strong in net.  The Lions were led by goalkeeper Andrew Trice (Quincy, Mass) who had six saves n the first period. Both teams jockeyed for ball position in the first period but neither could tally a score.  The score at the Half was 0-0.

In the second period the Lions were able to score when Brendan Douglas (Alton, NH) was able to break through the Pride's defense and get a shot off that found the back of the net.  The second goal of the game came on an errant play, the balled rolled into the net after a save from Tilman. This goal made the score of the game 2-0 in favor of the Lions.  

The Pride continued to test the Lions defense with 11 shots in the second half but could not find the back of the net. The Pride's defense continued to play aggressive and hold off the Lions strikers for the rest of the game.  In the final minutes of the game the Pride came close to scoring with a well placed shot from junior Wade Thongsyvalong (Salem, Mass. /Salem) that just missed the crossbar.

The Pride is set to play Colby Sawyer in their next matchup on Saturday (Oct. 23)
