REGIS COLLEGE BATTLES HARD IN CONFERENCE MATCH-UP

Henniker, N.H.— New England College men’s soccer forward Sean Walsh (Kingston, Mass.) netted two goals and dished out an assist leading the pilgrims past the visiting Regis College Pride 6-0 Wednesday afternoon.  

With the win the Pilgrims even their overall record at 4-4-0 and grab their fist conference win of the season improving to 1-2-0 in the TCCC. The loss drops the Pride to 3-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the TCCC.

NEC would get on the board early as Aaron Kolb (New Durham, N.H.) would dribble around a Pride defender and score on a one-on-one with the goalie just 4:46 into the game.
The Pilgrims would extend their lead to 3-0 quickly as they would net two goals in a six minute span.  NEC’s Sean Sullivan (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) would score his first goal of the season in the 23rd minute followed by Zak Harris (Bennington, Vt.) who would kick in attempted clear by the Pride goalie in the 29th minute.
NEC would tack on three scores in the second half of play, including two by Sean Sullivan and one by first-year forward David Walker.  The Pilgrims would finish the game out shooting the Pride 21-6 on the afternoon.
Picking up the win in net for NEC was Pat Harkin (Scituate, R.I.) who finished with three saves.  Seeing the bulk of the time in net for Regis was Ryne Tillman (Bedford, Mass.) who recorded seven saves.

New England College returns to action on Saturday, September 25 when they host conference opponent Anna Maria College.  Regis College will travel to take on conference opponent Salve Regina College Saturday.
