WESTON, Mass.—Regis College announced that Ricardo Argueta (Northridge, Calif./Notre Dame) would join the 2011 Regis College men’s soccer team. Argueta was a three-year letter winner at Notre Dame, and was named captain in his senior season.
The Sherman Oaks, California native played four years with the highly competitive Real So Cal Club team. Argueta also played in the Coast Soccer Premier and U.S. Development Academy Leagues. Playing in the middle position, Argueta helped lead his 2008 Real So Cal Club team to the academy playoffs.
“Ricardo is an incredibly gifted and technical
player,” stated the Pride men's soccer coaching staff.
Argueta’s talents have allowed him to participate in national
and international championships, including United States Youth
Soccer Far West championships. He has also played in the Manchester
Cup held in England.
The coaching staff feels Argueta’s versatility will
allow Regis College to be more dynamic as a team. Argueta
will join a Regis College program that added talented depth to its
roster last season, and given that talented the program notched
four wins in the season. With Regis College beginning competition
in the New England Collegiate Conference this fall, Argueta will
surely add to a wealth of experience developed over four
seasons.
Regis College will return for the 2011 season with experience,
talent and depth on its side. Men's soccer will continue
to develop the younger players into the system,
and the seasoned players will serve as mentors for their new
teammates.
