Sophomore:
Andrew has started in all 17 games this season as goalie. He has
an impressive total of 159 saves this season, with a save average
of 78%.
As a
Freshman:
Playing and starting all 18 games, LaMacchia recorded 272 saves,
with a 74% save average. Was ranked nationally in saves (2nd).
High School:
Was the recipient of the Kevin Roach Scholarship Award given to a
junior student who shows excellent leadership on and off the field
making people around him better people and players. Was a CCL
All-Star and Item All-Star both junior and senior year. Was an
Agganis and Eastern Massachusetts All-Star. While at St.
Mary’s he was also named number 1 goalkeeper in the Catholic
Central League. Andrew also played for Boston Blast FC.
Coaches
Statement:
Andrew is a superbly talented Goalkeeper with amazing natural
instincts and ability to react. He has the ability to dominate a
game and totally frustrate the opposition. In 2009 he lead all
Goalkeepers in the NCAA III in Saves and finished second in Saves
per game. He gives us shutout potential in every match!
