Hartford, Conn. – Regis College lost to Trinity College, 78-55, Tuesday night in a non-conference game at the Ray Oosting Gymnasium.
Trinity started with two consecutive jumpers from Henry Vetter and Jarrel Okorougo to lead the start of the game with four points. Jamir Harvey (Robbins, Ill.) gained possession of the ball after a pass from Ned Fitzpatrick (Providence, R.I.) to score the first layup of the game, trailing by two. Russell Rau (Westminster, Mass.) extended offensive output with a three pointer to lead with one. Trinity put together a 10-5 scoring run to pull ahead 22-15.
The Pride scored six unanswered points, featuring two three-pointers from Gehrig Brynda (Deerfield, Mass.) to trail by one point. The Bantams collected an 8-3 scoring run to finish the first half in the lead at 40-29.
Despite consecutive three-pointers from Brynda, Fitzpatrick and Rau at the start of the second half, Trinity took solid control of the contest midway through thanks to a 12-8 scoring run driven by Tristan Davis, Jared Berry and Drew Lazarre to close out the game 78-55.
Rau led the Pride with 13 points, five rebounds and two assists. Dan Grasso (Norwood, Mass.) collected 11 points off the bench for the Pride, followed by Brynda with 10 points and five rebounds.
Regis (4-3) is scheduled to host Fitchburg State on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 6:00 p.m. Trinity (6-0) is set to host Anna Maria on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7:00p p.m.
