CHAMBERS NAMED TO NABC HONORS COURT

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the second straight season, graduating senior Ryan Chambers (Abington, Mass.) has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, it was announced on Monday. The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that players possess off the court, and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.

Chambers joins a record number 894 student-athletes from 338 colleges and universities earning the NABC Honors Court distinction.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:

  • Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
  • Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year.
  • Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
  • Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.

A senior business management major, Chambers graduates Regis College as the all-time leader in points (1,311), three-pointers made (260), and free throw percentage (78.9%), while ranking sixth in assists (137) and second in steals (119). He helped lead the Pride to four-straight postseason appearances, including three-straight NECC Semifinals appearances and one NECC Championship game. Regis won 50 games during his four years in the program.
