PRIDE EARN #3 SEED AFTER 59-42 WIN

NASHUA, N.H. – Regis College picked up its sixth-straight win to end the regular season, defeating Daniel Webster College, 59-42, on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference men's basketball action.

The Pride improve to 11-14 overall and 11-5 in the NECC and clinch the No. 3 seed in the upcoming NECC Tournament. DWC wraps up the regular season at 11-14 as well, finishing 7-9 in league action and earning the No. 6 seed and will travel to Regis College for a first round matchup with the Pride on Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m.

Regis jumped out to an 11-4 lead early in the contest following a layup by Ethan Peana (Staten Island, N.Y.), leading to an Eagles timeout. Daniel Webster's John Hickson buried a three at the 10:42 mark to make it a 13-10 game, but Regis went on a 6-0 run to take a 19-10 lead only three minutes later. The Pride entered the break with a 33-23 lead after Ryan Chambers (Abington, Mass.) connected on a triple with only four seconds left in the period.

Daniel Webster cut the lead to only six out of the half, but a triple from Osanto Marc (Kissimmee, Fla.) and a layup by Marc 30 seconds later put the Pride back up 12. Peana connected on back-to-back layups to make it a 12 point game again, but Hickson answered with another three to make it a nine point game with 10:15 to play.

Carlos Bermudez-Glean (Boston, Mass.) connected on a jumper at the 4:18 mark and Osanto Marc followed with a pair of layups to put the Pride up by 17 with only 2:33 to play and seal the win as Daniel Webster only made one field goal over the final two minutes and gave the Pride the 59-42 win.

Osanto Marc led all scorers with 15 points and added seven rebounds and four assists. Evin Matted (Hartford, Conn.) joined him in double-figures with 13 points while also grabbing nine rebounds. Ethan Peana came off the bench to chip in 11 points and six rebounds.

Hickson led DWC with 13 points, while Rufus Louf added 10 points and six rebounds.

Regis and Daniel Webster meet for the third time this season on Tuesday night in the NECC First Round at 8:00 p.m.
