WESTON, Mass. – After two standout performances this past week, Regis College freshman Jordan Monts (Springfield, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for men's basketball, as it was announced by the conference earlier this morning.

Monts averaged a team-high 12.5 points in a two game week for the Pride. The freshman guard shot a stellar 80 percent from the field and put up 12 points, while adding 9 rebounds and 2 steals in a loss to Lesley on Tuesday night. The rookie followed up that performance by registering a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds and also added an assist in a loss to Elms on Saturday.

Monts and the Pride will look for their first win of the season as they get back to action on December 29th for a 1:00 p.m. nonconference showdown with FDU-Florham in the opening game of the Trinity Tournament.
