PRIDE READY FOR PILGRIMS

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men's basketball team is set to take on New England College. Wednesday (Jan. 19) at 7:30 p.m. The Pride enters the contest with an overall record of 9-6 and is 2-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Play.  The Pilgrims enter the contest with an overall record of 12-2 and are 2-1 In TCCC play.

The Pride will be taking on the second most potent offense in TCCC competition.  The Pilgrims are averaging 75.3 points per game and have amassed 903 total points on the season. The Pride will look to capitalize on the fact that the Pilgrims are also the second most scored upon defense giving up 60.6 points per game.  The Pride will be led by senior Derrick Neal (Boston, Mass./ Brighton) who is coming off  a strong performance against Curry College where he tallied a game high of 26 points.

The Pride will be led on Defense freshman Robert Edwards (Idaho Falls, Idaho./Philips Exeter) who currently is tied for third in TCCC play for  blocked shots.  Neal will also help out on defense after amassing a total of 31 steals on the season.

On offense the Pilgrims are led by Jason Minerve (Narre Warren, Australia / Falmouth) who leads the TCCC in three point field goal percentage.  Minerve has made 20 of 29 three- pointers this season. On Defense the Pilgrims will be led by Joe Faragher (North Ridgeville, Ohio / North Ridgeville) who is currently fifth in TCCC play for rebounds with 95 on the season.

The game will be held at the Regis College Athletic Center and is scheduled for a 7:30 P.M. start.
