Weston, Mass.—Phil Alibrandi (York, Maine) and James Cooper (Philadelphia, Pa.) were named to The Commonwealth Coast Conference Men’s Basketball All-TCCC Third team, as voted on by the coaches of the representing TCCC institutions.
Alibrandi, a junior, averaged 11.3 points per game for the Pride, and was a major contributor in Regis’ 101-96 double-overtime victory over Anna Maria College Saturday.
He posted a career-high 34 points and snagged 17 rebounds in the win. Alibrandi shot a respectable 46 percent from the field, and 76 percent from the free-throw line. His best performance from the line was Saturday when he made 16-of-19 (.842) in the game.
Cooper was a tremendous to the lift to the leadership on the floor. Cooper is a quick and talented basketball player. In 25 games Cooper averaged 10.4 PPG, while dishing out 4.76 APG.
On more than one occasion Cooper has sniffed triple-double performances. For a guard Cooper led the team in rebounds with a total of 142. Against Anna Maria he had a season-high 25 points, his second highest assists (10), and eight rebounds.
The defeat of Anna Maria knocked the AMCats
out of the running for a TCCC postseason spot. Regis needed to win
its last two games of the season to be eligible for the
quarterfinals.
