TRINITY MEN'S BASKETBALL UPSETS REGIS COLLEGE
Hartford, Conn. – Sophomore forward Jon Pike (Exeter, N.H.) scored 20 points and added six rebounds and two blocks to lead the Trinity College Bantams a 66-56 win over the Regis College Pride in men’s basketball action this afternoon on Stan Ogrodnik Court at Oosting Gymnasium tonight. Trinity improves to 9-8 overall while the Pride fall to 8-9.

Trinity improves to 9-8 overall while the Pride fall to 8-9.
Trinity held a lead for the majority of the first half, but Regis was able to keep within striking distance, and eventually take a 41-40 lead on a bucket by senior guard James Cooper (Philadelphia, Penn.). With ten minutes to play in the game, Trinity freshman guard Cameron Sutton (Queens, N.Y.) was able to regain the lead for the Bantams with a steal and basket that would spark a 7-0 Trinity run.
Regis trailed by eight points with just under two minutes
remaining in the game, but Sutton would go 4-4 from the charity
stripe on the ensuing two Trinity possessions after Regis was
unable to convert on the offensive end. Sutton finished the
game with 10 points.
Junior guard Derrick Neal (Boston, Mass.) led Regis with 16 points,
while junior guard Jimmy Irmiter (Chicago, Ill.) hit three treys
and scored 11 points, and senior guard James Cooper (Boston, Mass.)
scored ten points to go along with nine rebounds to lead the
Pride.
Trinity will visit NESCAC rivals Colby on Fri., Jan. 29 at 8 p.m.
and Bowdoin the following day at 4 p.m.
