Regis College Improves in TCCC with Victory

 

Weston, Mass.—Phil Alibrandi (York, Maine) had a team-high 24 points for Regis College (8-8, 4-1 TCCC) as he led the Pride to an 89-78 victory over Eastern Nazarene College (4-13, 2-3 TCCC).

 

The Lions Chima Ezeigbo finished with a game-high 30 points and 11 rebounds. Ezeigbo had the games only double-double in his 36:00 minutes of play. He was 67 percent (12-of-18) from the field, and 6-of-9 (.667) from the free-throw line.

 

Michael McCoy (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) and C.J. Gonzales (Fall River, Mass.) had 13 and 11 points respectively for Eastern Nazarene. McCoy was 4-of-6 (.667) from the field, 3-of-5 (.600) at the three-point line, and perfect on his two free-throw attempts.

 

Regis had five player’s tally double-digits. Alibrandi’s 24-point performance was a season-high. He missed just one shot from the field (8-of-9), made both three-point attempts, and was 6-of-9 (.667) from the charity stripe.

 

Derrick Neal (Boston, Mass.) contributed 15 points shooting 50 percent from the field and behind the three-point line. Teammates Jesse Vega (Pawtucket, R.I.), Jonathan Josselin (Medford, Mass.), and Jimmy Irmiter (Chicago, Ill.) added 14, 13, and 11 points respectively.

 

Josselin’s 13 points are a career-high. Regis shot better than the Lions from the free-throw line (.588), and slightly better at the three-point line (.704).

 

Eastern Nazarene will travel to Simmons College Tuesday, Jan. 26 for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off. Regis College will travel to Trinity (Conn.) on the same day.
