WINTHROP, Mass. – Defender Allie Colburn (Rockland, Maine) and forward Mariana Agahigian (Reading, Mass.) were both recognized by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) in their release of weekly awards on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Colburn was named GNAC Defensive Player of the Week, playing a significant role in Regis' season-opening shutout over Gordon on Saturday. She continually took possession away from the Fighting Scots and prevented them from advancing up the field several times. Colburn consistently made solid passes up the field to teammates, allowing the Pride to begin their offensive attack. The Pride held Gordon without a penalty corner while allowing just one shot that was off target.

Agahigian, recognized as GNAC Rookie of the Week, quickly established plans to be a major part of the Regis offense. Agahigian earned an assist on the first goal of Saturday's match against Gordon just over two minutes into the contest. She continually put pressure on the Gordon defense and converted her first career collegiate shot for a goal early in the fourth quarter, adding insurance to the Pride's 3-0 victory.

Regis (1-0) is set to travel to Eastern Connecticut State on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 4:00 p.m.
