
Regis Field Hockey Releases 2024 Competition Slate
2024 REGIS COLLEGE FIELD HOCKEY COMPETITION SCHEDULE
WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College field hockey team aims to continue its climb up the conference regular season standings as the program announces its 17-match schedule for 2024, featuring nine home contests.
The Pride will open the season by hosting Gordon College Saturday, Aug. 31. The team will then play three straight matches on the road with significant time between games for practice: Sept. 4 at Eastern Connecticut State, Sept. 12 at UMass Dartmouth, and Sept. 18 at Elms College.
Regis welcomes Simmons University to campus Saturday morning, Sept. 21, before a trip north to take on Saint Joseph's College Tuesday, Sept. 24. The Pride once again open the Regis Fest tripleheader at Regis Stadium Saturday, Sept. 28, this time against Colby-Sawyer College, followed by another home match against Rivier University Wednesday, Oct. 2.
A late afternoon meeting in Connecticut against University of Saint Joseph takes place Saturday, Oct. 5. That is followed by four straight home matches in a seven-day span as Regis hosts Mount Holyoke (Oct. 10), Dean College (Oct. 12), Clark University (Oct. 14), and Albertus Magnus (Oct. 16).
After the short trip to Newton to face Lasell University Saturday, Oct. 19, the Pride closes their home schedule against New England College Tuesday, Oct. 22. Regis finishes the regular season with road contests at defending league champion Johnson and Wales Saturday, Oct. 26, and at Anna Maria College Wednesday, Oct. 30.
The top eight teams in the final regular season standings will advance into the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Field Hockey Tournament, starting with the quarterfinals Saturday, Nov. 2, followed by the semifinals Wednesday, Nov. 6, and the championship match Saturday, Nov. 9. The winner of the tournament will receive the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Tournament.
In 2023, the Regis field hockey team went 5-7 in GNAC play to finish in eighth place in the conference standings and qualify for the GNAC Tournament for the first time since 2019.
Regis College sponsors 19 intercollegiate sports, including field hockey, within NCAA Division III as a member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.
