NFHCA recognizes Bell and Mannone as Division III Scholars of Distinction

MANAHAWKIN, NJ.- Regis College senior Olivia Bell (Poland, Maine) and sophomore Macie Mannone (Lunenburg, Mass.) have been named Division III Scholars of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA), announced Monday, Feb. 19, by the national organization.

The NFHCA Scholars of Distinction recognizes student athletes who have shown exceptional academic achievement, earning a cumulative grade point average of a 3.9 or higher throughout the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year. In total, 509 undergraduate student-athletes have received the high academic honor.

Bell earns her third consecutive NFHCA Scholar of Distinction award for her academic performance as a nuclear medicine major. On the field, she started all 18 matches she appeared in, earning five defensive saves this season.

Mannone earns her first NFHCA Scholar of Distinction honor for her academic performance as an early childhood education major. On the field she started in all 18 matches she appeared in, finished with six defensive saves for the season and was tied for third in the GNAC with defensive saves.

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters from across the United States. The mission is to champion, strengthen, and celebrate field hockey coaches and the game.
