Regis Falls to Simmons, 10-0

BOSTON, Mass. – The Regis College field hockey team fell to Simmons University, 10-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference game on Saturday at Daly Field.

Simmons' first goal came in the third minute of the match following a breakaway from Aria Badra. Just three minutes after the first goal, Sydney Gonyea slipped a pass to Anna Tedeschi for the second goal of the game. The Shark offense stayed busy in the second quarter, with four unassisted goals scored by Sydney Gonyea and a goal scored by Hannah Groves.

Badra scored her second goal of the game in the third quarter, while Ainslee Shrout found the back of the net on a pass from Badra in the fourth quarter. The final goal was scored by Ava Kahl, assisted by Gonyea.

Sarai Velez (Everett, Mass.) started the match and made three saves in the first half before Allayna Martone, (Elkridge, Md.) played the second half in net.

The Pride are scheduled to travel to Colby Sawyer College on Wednesday, Oct. 18, for their next match, starting at 3:30 p.m.
