Pride Field Hockey Drops Non-Conference Contest

WORCESTER, Mass. - Clark University was able to get past the Regis College field hockey team Saturday afternoon, 8-1, at the Granger Athletic Complex.

The Pride were able to stay with the Cougars for a scoreless first quarter. Clark gained momentum in the second quarter with a goal from Alison Kopec in the 22nd minute of the match. Just three minutes later, Frankie Alley (Gardner, Mass.) found the back of the net, tying the game just before halftime.

With less than two minutes into the third quarter, Elizabeth Cacciapagl scored an unassisted goal. Clark took control with six penalty corners and scored three more times in the quarter, with goals from Greer McCarty, Rachael Romain, and Ciaran Cubbage.

Abbe Cravinho scored in the 45th minute, with Cubbage and McCarty scoring their respective second goals of the game in the final quarter, both with less than 10 minutes to spare.

Sarai Velez (Everett, Mass.) had eight saves in the third quarter and 13 total saves in just over three periods of action in net. Olivia Bell (Poland, Maine) had one defensive save.

Regis College is back in action Tuesday Sept. 12, at Regis Stadium where they will host Johnson and Wales University starting at 7:30 p.m.
