Field Hockey Remains Undefeated in Conference Play

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College improves to 2-0 in the GNAC, defeating conference rival Dean College, 4-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference field hockey action Saturday at Regis Stadium.

Morgan Pero (Hartford, Vt.) scored first for the Pride towards the end of the first quarter, intercepting a pass from Dean and scoring an unassisted goal to give Regis a 1-0 lead.

The Pride scored twice in the third quarter with the first goal coming when Gracie Marsh (Orange, Mass.) crossed the ball in front of the net to find Frankie Alley (Gardner, Mass.) for the second goal of the contest. 12 minutes later, Ava Costello (North Easton, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season off a pass from Pero to give Regis a 3-0 advantage.

The Pride took advantage of a penalty corner in the fourth quarter with a series of passes resulting in a goal by Sarah Juskiewicz (Gorham, Maine), assisted on the play by Ashley Monteiro (Atkinson, N.H.).

Jocelyn White (Wilmington, Mass.) and Sarai Velez (Everett, Mass.) split time in net during the shutout while Mackenzie Fillion played the whole game for the Bulldogs making nine saves throughout the contest.

Regis College (2-5, 2-0 GNAC) next plays on the road against Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Wednesday, Sept. 28, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Dean College (0-6, 0-3 GNAC) hosts the University of Maine-Farmington on Sunday, Sept. 25, starting at 1:00 p.m.
