Regis Field Hockey Unable to Complete Comeback Against Clark

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College was unable to come back against Clark University, losing 4-2 to the Cougars Tuesday night in non-conference collegiate field hockey action at Regis Stadium.

The fourth quarter belonged to the Pride as Regis scored twice in an attempt to come back from a four-goal deficit. Frankie Alley (Gardner, Mass.) put the Pride on the board, scoring an unassisted goal in the 49th minute of play. Just a few minutes later, Sarah Juskiewicz (Gorham, Maine) scored off a pass from Morgan Pero (Hartford, Vt.) to cut the deficit to two.

Clark struck first when Abbe Cravinho crossed the ball in front of the net, finding Greer McCarty who scored to put the visitors up, 1-0, in the first quarter. 

The second quarter saw the Cougars score twice with McCarty scoring her second goal of the contest, this time assisted by Autumn Golding. Later in the quarter, Cravinho joined the list of goal scorers to put the visitors up by three, assisted on the play by Kimberlie Asseng. 

McCarty earned the hat trick early in the third period off a pass from Golding, extending Clark's advantage to four goals.

Regis goalie Jocelyn White (Wilmington, Mass.) made eight saves on the night while Loren Root made two saves for the Cougars. 

Regis College (1-3, 1-0 GNAC) next plays on the road against UMass Dartmouth on Thursday, Sept. 15, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Clark (2-3, 0-0 NEWMAC) returns to the field on Saturday, Sept. 17, with a road game against Wellesley College starting at 12:00 p.m.
