Regis Field Hockey Falls to Framingham State

WESTON, Mass. - Regis College fought back in the second half but could not overcome Framingham State's five first-half goals, losing to the Rams 7-0 Tuesday evening in non-conference field hockey action at Regis Stadium.

The Pride's best chance to score came in the 33rd minute of play when Sarah Juskiewicz (Gorham, Maine) beat Framingham State's goalie and took a shot on net but was denied by a defensive save by Corinne Lawson. After allowing five goals in the first half, the Regis defense buckled down, only allowing another two goals to be scored for the remainder of the contest.

Regis goalkeeper Sarai Velez (Everett, Mass.) had seven saves on the night while the Pride created five penalty corner opportunities.

The Rams were led by Corlene Guenard, who earned the hat trick by scoring three goals and adding an assist. Angelina Serra, Brandi Core, Abigail Clark, and Isabella Kondi also scored for Framingham State while Kennedy St. Pierre added two assists.

Regis College (0-2) next plays at home against Albertus Magnus Saturday, Sept. 10, beginning at 1 p.m. Framingham State (1-1) travels to Dean Thursday, Sept, 8, with a start time at 4 p.m.
