GILBERT, Ariz. – Nine members of the Regis College field hockey team are among 1,943 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions to received recognition on the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad, announced Thursday by the organization.

The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year.

Leading Regis' representation is senior tri-captain Ashley Chipman (Stoughton, Mass.), a four-year honoree as a nursing major. Fellow senior Mary Costantino (Abington, Mass.), majoring in secondary education and history, also earned the honor after the fall semester.

Junior tri-captain Hope Winkin (Winslow, Maine), a secondary education and English major, joins classmates Jamie Juskiewicz (Gorham, Maine), majoring in global business management and economics, and Joslyn O'Brien (Petersham, Mass.), a nursing major, on the list. Sophomores Hope Celli (Pembroke, Mass.), a nursing major, Kacey Thompson (Rutland, Vt.), majoring in diagnostic medical sonography, and Sarah Tetrault (North Easton, Mass.), a therapeutic recreation major, were also recognized, as was freshman nursing major Hannah Schneiderman (Manchester, N.H.).

Last week, the Regis field hockey team as a whole received the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award for earning a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2019 fall semester.

Regis won its last four regular season matches in a row, including three straight shutouts, as well as its first round contest in the GNAC Tournament before losing in the semifinals to eventual GNAC champion Saint Joseph's College.
