SIX NAMED TO ALL-NECC TEAMS

WESTON, Mass. – Six members of the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference Champion Regis College field hockey team were named to the NECC All-Conference Teams, it was announced on Monday morning.

The Pride (6-13) won their second NECC Championship in the past four years and will take on Franklin and Marshall College in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

Seniors Sashae Walls (Everett, Mass.) and Becka Sarson (York, Maine) were named to the All-NECC First Team and were joined by junior Laurie DeMars (Maynard, Mass.) and sophomore Jenna Casello (Westborough, Mass.). Rounding out the All-Conference selections were Sam Anderson (Sandwich, Mass.) and Raegan Heck (Phillipston, Mass.), who were named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention Team.

Sashae Walls' First Team selection is her second All-Conference recognition in a row after an Honorable Mention nod in 2013. Walls played both halves of the field this year, leading the team in goals (6) and points (15), while also leading the Pride in defensive saves with eight. In NECC play, Walls ranked third in the league with three goals, and led the league with five defensive saves. Walls was also named to the NECC All-Tournament Team.

Becka Sarson earns her first All-Conference nomination after helping backstop the Pride defense and working as a midfielder. Sarson recorded one assist this season and had a pair of defensive saves. Sarson's biggest moment of the year came in the NECC Championship game as her penalty stroke in a shootout clinched the title for the Pride and placed her on the All-Tournament Team.

Laurie DeMars also earned her first All-Conference nod, finishing second on the team with five goals and 14 points. DeMars led the Pride with four assists this season, and her two game-winning-goals also led Regis. In NECC action, DeMars scored three goals and had two assists for eight points, all ranked inside the top-10. DeMars scored one of two penalty strokes in the Pride's victory over Elms in the NECC Championship and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Sophomore Jenna Casello scored a pair of goals and had three assists for seven points this season. Casello scored the game-winning goal against Daniel Webster, and recorded points in three of the final four games of the season.

Sam Anderson earns her first All-NECC selection after scoring a goal and recording three assists this year. All three of Anderson's assists came in conference play, including a pair of helpers in a win over Daniel Webster. Anderson was named to the All-Tournament Team as well.

NECC Tournament MVP Raegan Heck garnered her second All-NECC selection after an Honorable Mention nod in 2013. Heck finished second in the NECC with four goals allowed and a 1.12 GAA in conference games and also added a .815 save percentage. Overall, Heck led the league with only 38 goals allowed and a 2.14 goals against average, and led the NECC with six wins.
