#4 REGIS TRAVELS TO #1 BECKER WEDNESDAY

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College field hockey team has earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Field Hockey Tournament, and will travel to No. 1 Becker College on Wednesday for an NECC Semifinal matchup at 4:30 p.m.

The Pride (4-13, 3-2 NECC) won their final two NECC games to secure a playoff spot, finishing in a three-way tie for the No. 2 seed, but missing out due to a tie-breaker. The Hawks (5-13, 4-1 NECC) defeated Wheelock College, 1-0, on Saturday to secure the top seed in the tournament.

Regis and Becker met back on Tuesday, October 21, in Weston, Mass., with the Pride posting a 2-0 victory over the Hawks. Kelsey Morton (South Portland, Maine) scored a pair of second half goals, and Raegan Heck (Phillipston, Mass.) made six saves in the shutout.

The other NECC Semifinal matchup features No. 2 Elms hosting No. 3 Wheelock also on Wednesday. The Blazers defeated Wheelock, 4-1, in their previous matchup this season.

The NECC Championship will take place on Saturday afternoon at the highest remaining seed.
