WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman Laurie DeMars (Maynard, Mass.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week in field hockey this week, it was announced by the conference offices.

Laurie DeMars netted her first two collegiate goals in an 8-3 setback to Clark University on Saturday. Both goals came in the second half as Regis tried to mount a comeback against the Cougars. Her two tallies leave her tied for the team lead in goals with a pair of other Pride players.

Laurie DeMars and the Regis College field hockey team return to action on Wednesday night as the Crimson & Gold host former Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Salve Regina University in a 7:00 p.m. non-league game.
