PRIDE PLACE SIX ON NFHCA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College field hockey team placed six student-athletes on the 2011 Gladiator by SGI National Field Hockey Coaches Association's All-Academic Team, it was announced last week. The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.

Seniors Victoria Pappas (Niantic, Conn.) and Meghan Robohm (Easton, Mass.) highlighted the selections. Pappas was a four-year recipient of the award.

Joining Pappas and Robohm on the All-Academic Team are sophomores Shannon Bradish (Lawrence, Mass.), Kymberly Kerr (Uxbridge, Mass.), Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, Mass.), and freshman Kara LaPierre (Wayland, Mass.).

The Pride finished the season with an 8-10 overall record and captured their first ever New England Collegiate Conference Championship.
