PRIDE BLAST HAWKS EARLY FOR 4-0 WIN

LEICESTER, Mass. - Regis College used four first half goals to defeat Becker College 4-0 in New England Collegiate Conference women's field hockey action this evening.

Regis got the scoring started just 2:59 into the game when Cheyenne Genga (South Windsor, Conn.) fed Sashae Walls (Everett, Mass.) for her team-leading seventh goal of the season. The Pride added to their lead in the 18th minute when Cheyenne Genga put back a Christine O'Toole (Wareham, Mass.) shot, lifting Regis to a 2-0 advantage.

The Pride continued their offensive assault in the 24th-minute when Walls scored her second goal of the game. Regis added one more tally before the half when Meghan Robohm (Easton, Mass.) ripped a shot, deflecting it off a Becker defenders stick into the net.

Regis goalkeeper Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, Mass.) made 15 stops in the victory. The win lifts the Pride to 4-9 overall and 2-1 in the NECC. The Pride will host NECC opponent Elms College on Wednesday evening at 6p.m.

Becker keeper Samantha-Jo Dilkes (Little Falls, N.J.) turn away three Regis shots as the Hawks fall to 4-10 overall and 1-1 in the NECC. The Hawks will host Anna Maria on Wednesday afternoon at 4p.m.
