THOMAS EDGES PRIDE IN NON-CONFERENCE MATCHUP

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Regis College field hockey team will have to wait another day to pick up its first win of the season after the Pride fell 4-0 to Thomas College on Saturday afternoon in Waterville, Maine. The Pride drops to 0-3 this season while Thomas improves to 1-3 on the young year.

Junior Miranda Tinsman got the scoring started for the Terriers when she hit the back of the net off a penalty stroke. Tinsman's first goal of the season came approximately 15 minutes in the Terriers second home game of the season. The Terriers controlled the tempo of the game, attacking the Pride with 27 shots and keeping the Pride's offense at bay not allowing a single shot the entire first half.

Senior Brittney Moore got the Terriers some insurance when she capitalized off a rebound from an Ally Kennedy shot to put the Terriers up by two with 17 seconds remaining in the half.

At the half Thomas led Regis 2-0. The Terriers would add a pair of goals in the second to secure their first win of the season.

Sophomore goalie Sofia Sourgiadakis notched her first win of the season, while Regis', Morgan Mitchell (Ashburnham, Mass.) shoulders the loss. Mitchell had a busy day in the cage for the Pride as she made 10 saves against 14 shots on goal.
