FIELD HOCKEY RELEASES 2010 SCHEDULE

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College athletics department released its 2010 field hockey schedule earlier this week. The Pride will play 11 home games this season starting with non-conference opponent Simmons (Sept. 6).

Including the game against Simmons, Regis will play its first six contest of the year on its home turf. Three of those games will be against non-conference opponents. Regis will face Elms (Sept. 8), Thomas (Sept. 14), and Daniel Webster (Sept. 15) before its first away game.

The Pride will begin its chase for The Commonwealth Coast Conference championship against Western New England (Sept. 11), then face defending champion Nichols (Sept. 18).

Nichols lost to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology 2-1 in the NCAA quarterfinals.

With back-to-back games on the road, Regis will travel to Lasell (Sept. 21) before entering a conference match-up with Anna Maria (Sept. 25).

Regis will host three of its last five games of the regular season against TCCC opponents. The Pride start with Salve Regina (Oct. 6) at home, travel to the University of New England (Oct. 9), and head back home to face TCCC runner-up New England College (Oct. 12).

Endicott (Oct. 16) will travel to Weston for Regis’ last home game of the year. The Pride will take to the road to face Gordon (Oct. 23) in its last match of the regular season.

Regis College opened its 2009 season on its newly completed multi-turf field, and under the direction of Lisa LeVierge. LeVierge and the Pride will return in 2010 hoping to learn from last season.
