GEAGAN NETS PRIDE'S FIRST GOAL OF SEASON

Weston, Mass.-Having lost to Worcester Polytechnic Institute 7-0 on Labor Day, the Pride of Regis College (0-2) went to work against Elms College Thursday. Fighting a hard fought battle, the Pride would fall 2-1 to the Blazers.

Sophomore Caitlyn Geagan (Watertown, MA) made sure to let her opponents know that Regis came to take care of business early. Geagan scored the team's first goal of the season 8:15 into the first half.

Regis College would fight off the Blazers attacks for nearly five minutes, until Kaitlyn Graham would score against senior Kristen Tavares (Acushnet, MA).

Offensively, both teams were comparable in shots taken. Regis would stick to an aggressive play of defense to fend off any offensive attack. It would not be until the second half that Elms would score its second goal (Denise Perks).

The Pride fought hard from start to finish, with Gaegan leading the way. Tarvares would pick-up four saves on the night.

Regis College returns to the field Sept. 6 at 1pm to face St. Joseph's of Maine.
